Sheepskin sizes

When it comes to buying a sheepskin rug, there are a lot of things to consider before buying.

One of the most important is to measure the area where the rug is to be placed. The second is the size of your room.
It is important that the sheepskin rug fits the space proportionally and does not create an imbalance in the room because if the rug is too small it will "get lost" in the room. If it is too big, it will overwhelm the room and make the room appear smaller than it is. Other things that should also be taken into account when buying are, for example, the shape of the room, furniture arrangement and interior design.

Our skins have mainly three sizes: small, medium and large (S, M, L,)

Sometimes, however, there are sheepskins in very small and very large sizes (XS, XL)

We know the markings / sizes of the leathers (XS, S, M, L, XL).

But what do they actually mean exactly?

  • XS / S (extra small / small) are very small sheepskins. Thanks to their size, they are perfect for children's rooms or hallways. Length between 70/100 cm and width 45/65 cm.
  • M (medium) - these are neither small nor large skins, which is why they are perfect, for example, in small apartments as rugs for a coffee table or as a cover for an armchair. The length is between 100 / 120cm and the width is between 65 / 75cm.
  • L / XL (large / extra large) are the most common sheepskins because they fit under large sofas and often fit under the dining table. They are suitable for larger rooms or open spaces. The length is between 110 / 130cm and the width is between 75 / 90cm

Our sheepskins are always measured individually and measurements are taken from the longest and widest points on the bristle side, not the suede side.
When shopping, it is important to have your measurements on hand as this will help you estimate the actual size of the sheepskin. When viewed, it is not uncommon for the skins to appear larger than they really are.
